Abstract:Two amazing results in geometry.

Biography: Elgin Johnston earned his doctorate from the Univeristy of Illinois at Urbana in 1977 in the fields of complex anlysis and approximation theory.  He presently is Professor and Associate Chair of Mathematics at Iowa State University.  At this time he is serving as Chair of the Committee on American Mathematics Competitions, Problems Editor for Mathematics Magazine, Chair of the Editorial Board for the MAA Problem book series, and brewer of numerous hoppy lagers and ales.  He recently co-authored a text book entitled Calculus, published by Addison Wesley.
