John Grade, Madison College

"Juggling, Braiding, Dancing and Math"

Abstract: John Grade will attempt to mathematically link the worlds of juggling, braiding, and dancing. He plans to accomplish this feat using computer games and confectionery.


John Grade has been a math club advisor and member of the Madison College math department since 2011. An electromechanical engineer by training, his education at Caltech and Stanford was in robotics and nanotechnology. He is a marginally competent juggler, hairdresser, dancer, programmer, baker, and mathematician.
